The Rogues in Arenas of WoW

Date: 05/15/2009

Some players may noticed that rogues were sapping us while we were in combat. When we start a round and we only see 1 opponent, we immediatly try and dot them so we get "in combat" to avoid saps. It is might be a thing where you have to be within a certain range of the enemy.

Maybe you got out of line of sight of who you dotted or out of your casting range. Not sure, we play a rogue and have never been able to sap someone when they are actually in combat. We think with my regular stealth we can recast it if enemy is dotted if we get far enough away and maybe out of line of sight. And that is a non combat ability. Sap went off same time as your spell, ability did, and it rarely happens.

Shadow dance lets you use sap out of stealth but it still applies to the combat tag so you are a victim of server latency. Or you were not in combat. Simple as that. Many classes have the ability to remove themselves from combat. As a mage, we can invis. Many times we have IceBlock, Invis'd to leave combat. Other classes can. So maybe you were in combat, but taken out.

Or. maybe a glitch or shrug. Just this morning we had just immolated or SF the cat and was winding a CB when we got sap. Also happened while in BGs like IoC and SoTA. We just immolate and then sap. It takes about 6 sec to drop combat, no? Well it's strange we are in combat and it happens.

It something we have only noticed withing the past week or maybe two for the most. Both druid and rogue were in stealth but we saw the cat first and opened on him. My buddy died quickly to two of them and then we went down in a few seconds as well. We are terrible but we are still practicing.
